After two years together, Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid are reportedly taking a break from their relationship. The U.S. Sun first wrote that they had split earlier this month because their relationship was “going through a crisis.” At the time, Dua Lipa was traveling between London and Los Angeles working on her new album, but Hadid remained in New York, sparking the rumors that the couple’s union wasn’t working out.
A source told US Weekly that this is more than a break.
“They’re no longer dating,” the insider said, confirming they haven’t been out together since November. For the most part, the former couple has kept their relationship fairly private, though they have posted photos of one another on Instagram, both sharing images from their Halloween celebrations this year.

Lipa is also quite close with Hadid’s sisters, Bella and Gigi, and is often photographed with them at events. Stories about them possibly dating began in 2019 after Dua Lipa was seen at both girls’ birthday parties. They confirmed their romance by appearing at the Marc Jacobs New York Fashion Week show together in September of that year. She then told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that she met Hadid at a BBQ and then messaged him via his DMs.
“I definitely did that,” the 26-year-old pop star said. “We actually met at a barbecue, but it then carried on to DMs.”
In February of this year, Lipa told British Vogue why she tried to keep things private with Hadid.
“We have all these incredible memories and experiences, and if there’s something that we want to share together, then OK that’s fun,” she explained. “We’ll only show you as much as we want you to see. It’s a little bit of give and take, trying to find the right balance of being so excited and being in love, and wanting to share that with the people around me, but at the same time not wanting to put too much out there.”
