SAN ANSELMO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 06: Becky Friese Rodskog rides her Peloton exercise bike at her home on April 06, 2020 in San Anselmo, California. More people are turning to Peloton due to shelter-in-place orders because of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The Peloton stock has continued to rise over recent weeks even as most of the stock market has plummeted. Peloton announced that they will temporarily pause all live classes until the end of April because an employee tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)

As a Peloton member since the spring of 2019, I don’t own Peloton hardware, but I subscribe monthly to the app for live and on-demand classes. I recommend it highly, and I’m here to fill users in on promotions that apply to healthcare workers, as well as to members of the military, teachers, and first responders — because they deserve it for all of their hard work and service.

Healthcare Worker Peloton Bike Discount

By purchasing a Peloton Bike or Peloton Bike+, healthcare workers, active or veteran military personnel, teachers, and first responders will get a free Essentials Package, currently worth $150. The pack includes three items: a pair of light weights between one and three pounds, headphones, and cycling shoes with cleats.

Apart from military personnel, qualifying members include US-only doctors, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, EMTs, firefighters, police officers, and educators. Those who qualify must show proof of service, and they can go to the Peloton website to see which forms of identification suffice.

Healthcare Worker Peloton App Special Pricing Discount

As of June 2021, the Peloton app, which currently costs $13 per month, will be offered at discounted monthly prices for healthcare workers, first responders, students, teachers, and active or retired military members in the US. This will be ongoing, and everyone aside from military personnel will have to verify their credentials annually, a spokesperson confirmed. Here’s the breakdown of the Peloton app discount:

  • Healthcare workers, teachers, and first responders: $10 a month with yearly verification
  • Students: $7 a month with yearly verification
  • Military personnel: $10 a month

As a reminder, access to the Peloton app is free to all-access members who own a Bike or Tread. Existing digital members (not just new members) who fall under the aforementioned categories, can also opt for the discounted prices. Find out information about the verification process and more specifics on Peloton’s website.
