How to Watch Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah Interview Tonight

Culture

Tonight is the highly anticipated Oprah Winfrey interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on CBS. As the teaser for the interview shows, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are going to get into the details of Harry and Meghan’s transition out of formal royal life.

At one point in the interview, Oprah asks Meghan: “Were you silent or were you silenced? I just want to make it clear to everybody. There is no subject that’s off limits.” This is going to be good.

This past week, the controversy with the interview amped up when The Times released a report that Meghan “faced a bullying complaint made by one of her closest advisers during her time at Kensington Palace.” Meghan’s longtime friends and former Suits co-stars have come to her defense.

Actress Janina Gavankar, Meghan’s friend, wrote on her Twitter on Thursday: “I have known Meghan for 17 years. Here’s what she is: kind, strong, open. Here’s what she’s not: ‘a bully.’ ANY of us who know her, feel the same thing from her broken silence: Relief. The truth shall set you free.”

All of this drama is clearly going to lead up to one very interesting two-hour TV event tonight. If you’ve been following the royal family—or you’ve been following Meghan and Harry since they got engaged in the fall of 2017, you’re probably going to want to watch tonight. Meghan and Harry live in Los Angeles now, they’ve got an almost-2-year-old son, and they’re expecting another baby this year. It’s time to catch up with the Sussexes.

Here’s how you can do that.

Tune into CBS

The interview is airing on CBS and the CBS App on Sunday, March 7 at 8 p.m. PT/ET, 7 p.m. CT. Make sure you pay attention to when it’s airing in your time zone and tune in accordingly.

What if you don’t have cable?

It’s 2021, and when we can stream so much, we don’t necessarily want to pay for cable. If you’re one of those anti-cable people, you can watch the interview on the following sources. If you want to snag a free trial, you can do so at any of these sites: Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, FuboTV, Sling TV, or AT&T TV Now. That way, you can watch what you need to watch tonight (this interview!), but you’re not necessarily committed to a subscription.

If you want to watch, plan to settle in.

This interview is two hours long, which means you’re going to want to have enough snacks and plan your bathroom breaks. The interview is going to be mostly a one-on-one with Meghan and Oprah, but Harry is going to pop in.

Last month, Prince Harry got his chance to get some things off his chest during an interview with James Corden, where he didn’t appear to hold back on what he was feeling.

“Dating with me, or with any member of the royal family I guess, is kind of flipped upside down,” he said of his and Meghan’s courtship. “All the ‘dates’ become dinners, or watching the TV or chatting at home. And then eventually once you become a couple, then you venture out to dinners, or the cinema and everything else. So everything was done back to front with us. We got to spend an enormous amount of time just the two of us, rather than going to friends’ houses or out for dinner where there were other distractions. There were no distractions, and that was an amazing thing. We went from zero to 60 in the first two months.”

He even revealed that Queen Elizabeth got his and Meghan’s son, Archie, a waffle-maker for Christmas. Harry’s Corden interview was full of all kinds of cute details (Meghan’s nickname for him is “Haz”), but tonight promises to bring a different tone entirely.
