Rep. Cori Bush, the newly-elected Democrat from Missouri, announced on Friday that she is moving offices after a heated hallway exchange with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a freshman Republican from Georgia.

In a tweet, Bush claimed a “maskless” Greene “berated” her in a hallway after “target[ing]” her and others on social media.” Bush says she is relocating in order to protect her own safety, as well as the safety of her staff.

According to government websites for both congresswomen, their offices are located on the same floor of the Longworth House Office Building, which houses 251 congressional suites.

Greene, who is known for her endorsement of QAnon conspiracy theories and dangerous rhetoric on social media (including calling for the execution of Democrats on Facebook), responded to Bush’s accusations with a tweet of her own, writing: “She is lying to you. She berated me.” Greene also posted a video with the tweet that shows her walking indoors with her mask pulled down, calling Bush a “hypocrite,” and claiming she has “the receipts.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted her support for Bush, writing that GOP leader Kevin McCarthy “has a responsibility to ensure his members do not harm others.”

“He is losing control of his caucus & allowing these threats to go unchecked, while looking the other way as members like @CoriBush feel so unsafe that she must move offices just 3 weeks into her 1st term,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote, adding that moving offices is “a huge and disruptive effort.”

“Honestly,” Ocasio-Cortez added on Twitter, “it shouldn’t even be Rep. Bush that has to move and endure all this, it should be Greene – she is the one that posing a threat to others around her.”
