Great skin, minus the guilt.

Happy World Vegan Day!

Whether you’re already vegan, or considering making some changes in your usual routine, we’ve rounded up five vegan skincare brands to add your roster.

Aesop

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Aesop has fast become a favourite amongst consumers. And with good reason. Its chic minimalist packaging houses stellar ingredients that smell delicious – all whilst looking fabulous on a countertop. With a focus on the environment and sustainability, Aesop is also entirely vegan. On its website the brand notes that “no animal-derived ingredients (such as beeswax, honey or lanolin) are used in Aesop products.” Shop it here.

Pai

Created by Sarah Brown after she began to experience sensitivity and acne issues with her own skin, Pai skincare products are made without chemicals and alcohols. It counts Natalie Portman – and more than a few FASHION editors – amongst its fans, too. In its FAQs, the brand confirms it is fully vegan writing, “We believe you can make great skincare from plant-derived ingredients alone. All our products are independently certified by the Vegan Society so you can shop with complete peace of mind.” Shop it here.

Isle of Paradise

OK so it’s not *technically* skincare, but a vegan tanning line is still a win in our books. The brand has developed a cult following since launch thanks to its colour-correcting formulas made from cruelty-free, organic ingredients. The brand’s whole ethos is also founded on a message of body positivity and inclusivity which we always have time for. It’s also 100 per cent vegan, with the brand writing on its website, “We believe our tanning products work better without animal based ingredients. Self Tanning is for humans, not for bunnies, kittens, flamingos, sloths, possums or any other animal. If they wanted to use self tan, they’d have learnt how to apply it by now, right? So with that in mind, we are passionately against all animal testing, 100 per cent vegan and use only organically sourced ingredients.” A streak-free glow with no guilt? Yes please. Shop it here.

Teaology

There’s plenty to be impressed by when it comes to Italian brand Teaology. Firstly, it’s the only line in the world that uses 100 per cent tea infusion instead of water in its products, meaning they’re able to retain the highest concentration of the powerful antioxidant, polyphenols. Furthermore, none of its products contain any harmful chemicals, and the entire line-up is both vegan and cruelty-free. The brand was also recently qualified as being anti-pollution, too. Its speciality product lines include its matcha, black, blue, green and white tea offerings. Shop it here.
