Jennifer Aniston started her Instagram with a Friends post, and she fed into nostalgia for the show yesterday by posting a #tbt of her favorite Friends scene with her The Morning Show co-star Reese Witherspoon. And because it’s Instagram, Witherspoon left a clever comment on the post.
Aniston and Witherspoon played sisters on Friends in 2000: Witherspoon was Jill Green, Rachel Green’s youngest sister who set her sights on Rachel’s on-off boyfriend Ross Geller during her guest arc in the show.
Aniston shared one of their most iconic scenes together—one that she recently reenacted with Witherspoon during their The Morning Show press tour. Aniston captioned the shot, “My pain in the ass little burst of sunshine sister and I are working together again. But this time, we’ll be much kinder to one another.
(Hmm, then again, we’ll just have to wait and see about that…) 😏@themorningshow @reesewitherspoon.”
And Witherspoon, playing off the dialogue in the scene, commented, “Still can’t have dairy … but I have YOU and that’s better 😍” Cute.

Witherspoon spoke about how her appearance on Friends led her and Aniston to become friends off-screen in her Harper’s Bazaar interview this month. “We met on the set of Friends; I played her sister,” Witherspoon told interviewer Natalie Portman. “I was 23 years old and had just had a baby. I was nursing Ava on set, and Jen just kept going, ‘You have a baby?’ I was like, ‘I know, it’s weird.’ And I remember her being like, ‘Where are you going?’ And I was like, ‘I’m pumping!'”
“She was so sweet to me,” Witherspoon continued. “I was really nervous, and she was like, ‘Oh, my gosh—don’t worry about it!’ I marveled at her ability to perform in front of a live audience like that with no nerves. They would change all the lines, and she was just so effortlessly affable, bubbly, and sunny. We’ve been friends ever since.”
