Fashion + philanthropy = a big tick from us.

Today, H&M Canada has announced the launch of a range of T-shirts to support Rethink Breast Cancer, a Toronto-based charity that works to empower and educate young women on the topic of breast cancer.

In partnership with the organization, H&M tapped three Canada-based artists: Cécile Gariépy, Emily Taylor and Grace Cho. Each artist was tasked with drawing an illustration that would then be featured on a limited edition shirt to help raise money for Rethink Breast Cancer’s important work.

Each shirt retails for CAD$17.99 with 50 per cent of the proceeds from each sale being donated to Rethink Breast Cancer.

MJ DeCoteau, the founder and executive director of the charity, said in a release, “Rethink is constantly seeking creative ways to educate young people about breast health and also to help support the young women impacted by a breast cancer diagnosis. By partnering with a leading global fashion retailer like H&M, we can continue to grow our movement in a bold and engaging way and attract a new generation of supporters.”

Meanwhile, Frédéric Tavoukdjian, the country manager for H&M Canada, said, “This collection aims to empower Canadian women to know the facts regarding their own breast health. This is a cause that resonates with both our colleagues and our customers, and [we are] proud to offer support.”

The designs are distinct to each of the artist’s own aesthetics. Grace Cho’s design features two women high-fiving with the words ‘Self-Care Club’ printed underneath, whilst Emily’s design features two flowers and Cécile’s has a female character with the words “Feeling Myself.” And seeing as the cause is such a worthwhile one, there’s no need to choose your favourite – we say, buy all three!

The limited edition breast cancer awareness T-shirts will be available in H&M stores across Canada and online from October 1, 2019.
