Crack open a Korean yogurt smoothie and dust off your “I heart Peter Kavinsk”y apparel because a first look at the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel is here. Titled To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, star Lana Condor shared a shot of herself and co-star Noah Centineo in the new movie on Instagram.
She captioned the still, “Here we go my loves! First look @ To All The Boys: P.S I Still Love You, premiering February 12th on @netflix. WHO IS READY?! 💌 #psistillloveyou.” Entertainment Weekly released exclusive photos from the forthcoming sequel, which follows Condor and Centineo’s characters, Lara Jean Covey and Peter Kavinsky, as they embark on a real relationship.
Viewers first fell in love with pair in the 2018 Netflix movie, based on the 2014 Jenny Han novel of the same name. A release date for the sequel was confirmed back in August, as well as news that production on a third movie, Always and Forever, Lara Jean, had begun.
As for what fans can expect from the second installment? The film’s director Michael Fimognari tells EW, “Jenny constructed a book trilogy starting with Lara Jean alone in her room, reading romance novels and fantasizing about what it means to be in love, to getting that, and now [in the sequel], dealing with it. And we still have the little drop in the pond that was created in the first movie, which is these love letters that got sent out, and the ripple of that gets to come back.”
It was announced in March that Jordan Fisher (Rent and Grease Live) would be joining the cast as John Ambrose McClaren, Lara Jean’s former crush who receives one of her letters in the first film. Condor tells EW about the pair’s relationship,“They’re true friends. But because you can love your friend very much, you get confused. You’re like, ‘Do I love him or do I love him as a friend?’ So he’s really there to mix it up.”
If there was ever any doubt about the love triangle brewing, Fimognari tells the outlet, “We certainly want there to be a Team Peter and a Team John.”
