As you may already know, Kylie Jenner is now an accidental singing icon. After a clip of her singing the words “rise and shine” to her daughter, Stormi, the Internet has fallen in love the riff and taken it into their own hands. Remixes have been made, Jenner’s selling “Rise and Shine”-inspired merch, and most recently, Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson have made their own version.
Cyrus posted a clip of her performing her own rendition alongside her boyfriend Cody Simpson who strummed a guitar. For the caption she wrote, “your new alarm clock.”
Cyrus isn’t the first person to cover the hit (are we calling this a hit now?). Shortly after Jenner’s clip went viral, Ariana Grande posted a video of her singing it to her Instagram stories asking Jenner if she could sample it. Jenner agreed on one condition: that she be allowed in the music video. That probably won’t be a problem, seeing as Grande cast Jenner’s mom, Kris, for her video for “Thank U, Next.”
Even Jenner’s ex-boyfriend, Tyga, is trying to get on the “Rise and Shine” action. On Friday he posted a photo of a tiger-striped car along with the caption, “Rise n Shine.”
It’s only natural that Jenner seize this opportunity to add to her billions. The makeup mogul is now selling merch inspired by her song stylings. On her website, fans can buy a hoodie that features her face inside a sun along with the words “rise” and “shine” along the sleeves for a cool $65.
